So I started running today..well if you can call it running. RB said to start out by walking 6 minutes then run one minute, you do this three times so it adds up to 21 minutes though only 3 of them are running minutes. Anyways I thought it was going to be a piece of cake running one minute but it was harder then I thought it would be. I think though that starting something is always the hardest and then over time it will get easier. I couldn't find a watch to time myself besides the hello kitty one that I got in a happy meal but hey it worked!
Yes, Ashley, it DOES get easier! I went through the same thing you're going through, and I know how you feel. Everyone thinks that running for a full minute should be easy, but then they're surprised when they try it and find out it is much harder than they imagined. But in six and a half weeks, at your 5K, when you are doing mostly running, a minute will seem like nothing! (Though five minutes might seem like a lot...) So keep it up! This is only day 1, and it is a great start!
